Private driving instructors
|
| basic structure |
- Course design, training compound design and any other training related matters are examined and authorized by the Transport Department.
- Emphasize the quality of service and professional management

- Lack of professional management as the companies are normally formed by the unification of the private instructors.

| Training Compounds |
- Possess precious private training compounds to gain more learning and practicing time
- have mid-term tests inside the private training compounds (driving on slope, parking and 3-points turning), same venue for training and test, resulted in gaining more confidence in examination.

No private training compounds. Students have to do the training on public roads and it takes time to queue up for the parking and turning practice.

| Caliber of the teaching staff |
- All driving instructors passed the Approved Driving Instructor(ADI) examination of the Transport Department and hold the Private Driving Instructors’ Licenses.
- Internal Driving Instructors’ Appraisal once a year
- Including written test, driving skills and teaching skills ;
- Periodically trained by driving experts from overseas.
- Many of the instructors have lots of experience in teaching driving license holders, company’s fleet and participants of Defensive Driving Course(DDC).

- No formal system of continuous appraisals
- Only capable of teaching the entry level students the “Learn to drive” skills.

- New computing and multimedia facilities in the teaching room
- Rich in teaching resources, both texts and photos are used for better understanding during lessons.
- Improve the driving knowledge, attitudes and other kinds of aspects of the students
- Instructors have lots of teaching experience on educating company’s fleet and attending open seminars as to raise the level of road safety in Hong Kong.

Equipped with simulated skid driving and Motorcycle Emergency Reaction Trainer (MERT). These unique facilities are imported from overseas for continuous training purpose.

- Through the advanced computer facilities like PDA, students can appraise the instructors instantly and directly according to their performance.
- Students have the right to request for another teaching instructors.
- The Hong Kong School of Motoring will reply any customer’s opinions in the shortest period of time.
